Can PEG react with MDI at room temperature under the catalyst of organotin?
PEG you have to choose low molecular weight, not recommended with organotin I think you are using stannous octanoate or butyltin laurate such as it, want to let MDI -NCO and PEG on the hydroxyl group reaction, more mild suggest you use organic cobalt or zinc better, the rate is higher with tetrabutyl titanate also can refer to discretion.

I have not tried 1000, I have used 200 and 400, the smaller the molecular weight of PEG the higher the hydroxyl value, the more favorable to the reaction. There is a legend that there is PEG-100, but I really didn't find it, so I can only order it from Sigma.
