Recently, Zhongyuan Petrochemical successfully tried HR catalyst produced by Beijing AODA to help the company develop new products.
The No.1 unit of the Polyolefin Division II of Zhongyuan Petrochemical mainly produces impact resistant polypropylene PPB-M02G, but with new units coming on stream in the system, similar units are competing for production, resulting in an increase in PPB-M02G production capacity and low prices. In order to maintain market competitiveness, Polyolefin Division II actively cooperated with Beihua Institute to develop new products with high added value. After market research and extensive consultation, it was agreed that high impact and high modulus products are in high demand downstream and have a broad market prospect.
The production of high impact products requires an increase in the amount of ethylene added, which increases the viscosity of the polypropylene material and reduces its fluidity, which will have a significant impact on the stable operation of the plant. On April 14, the operation department held several meetings to analyse and improve the plan, optimise the operating parameters and formulate measures to ensure the stable operation of the plant. 14 April, the trial of HR catalyst produced by Beijing AODA was officially started and experts from the North Chemical Institute came to the site to guide the production. Through the trial of HR catalyst, the operation department has accumulated experience in the use of HR catalyst and broadened the production range of the plant, which has laid a solid foundation for the future development of high impact and high modulus products.
